With well over sixty groups or activities on offer to members of U3A Carrick, there really is plenty to check out on this list of our sessions which take place at least once a month or with many, at more frequent intervals.
Congratulations to the following new Groups, which were provisionally approved and all having been running successfully for some time now have been approved by our U3A Committee; Walks-Tuesday-Long, Play Reading-Perranwell, Ten Pin Bowling-Falmouth and T’ai Chi.
We are always on the lookout for interesting new groups. Dave Crawford has offered to start an Angling group (boat, shore & coarse – novices welcome) and in order to see if it would be viable would anyone who might be interested please contact him (01872) 864874 or email crawford-david3@sky.com
Is anyone interested in starting a Geology group and or an Archaeology group? If so please contact me and we can make enquiries as to whether it is likely to be sufficiently supported.
Some groups have a requirement that members wishing to attend that group for the first time must contact the group leader in advance, in some groups it is essential to pre-book every meeting/event. These requirements are mentioned in the heading of the Calendar of Events in the Newsletter and on the Website Google Calendar.
If a group leader would like this to apply also to his or her group, please contact Duncan Tribute (01872) 260792, he will also inform Mark Breach and me. I would particularly recommend leaders of small groups, meeting in member’s homes to consider this as space is often limited; also some may prefer to know who to expect to come to their home. It can be embarrassing if we overlook these requirements, so if thinking of attending a group for the first time do please check the Calendar of Events to see if any such requirement applies.
