2010 Barbara Scammell Prose & Poetry Competition RULES 1 There will be two categories: Poetry and Prose, and each Member of U3A Carrick can submit up to two entries per category. 2 Prose entries must be not more than 1500 words and Poetry entries not more than 30 lines. Entries may be on any subject but should not have been previously published elsewhere. 3 Entries should arrive between 1st and 30th September 2010, inclusive; handwritten entries for typing by 18th September (see below). 4 As all entries will have to be put into a computer for printing in the booklet of entries, we would prefer to have your entry as an attachment to an email. However, if you can't manage that, type it onto A4 paper and send it by post. And don’t be put off if you can’t type – even if you write with a quill! As long as it is legible, we will type it out, provided it reaches us by the 18th September. 5 There are no entry forms this year BUT we must have the following information: your name, address and telephone no. and the title(s) of each entry submitted. This should be in the body of the email or, if you send by post, on a separate sheet of paper, as your name must not appear anywhere on your entry. 6 If you submit more than one entry, please send each entry as a separate attachment for emails, and on separate sheets of A4 paper for postal entries. 7 All entries may be published by the organisers in connection with the competition, eg read out or distributed in a booklet/newsletter. Authors retain copyright apart from this. 8 The judges' decision shall be final. Preferably E-mail your entries to: n.kinnison@sky.com, or send your Handwritten copy to: Edith Pascoe, 3 Scobles Terrace, Malpas, Truro, TR1 1SH TELEPHONE ENQUIRIES to Dave Neale on 01872 320107.
