The Computing Studies Group aims to provide students with a good basic understanding of the most common computer applications including the Internet and emailing.  No previous experience of computers is required, although it is always a benefit.  It is also of benefit if students have their own computers and are able to practice on a regular basis.

In the exceptional computing facilities at Richard Lander School at Gloweth, under the guidance of Angela Beale, the Group meets every Thursday afternoon (4.00 pm - 6.00 pm) in Room 118 during normal term time.   Students should be able to find adequate parking facilities within the school grounds to the left of the school buildings;  you are strongly advised not to arrive before 3.45pm in order to avoid severe traffic congestion as the school pupils leave the premises.

All levels of ability are most welcome. Some people bring their own laptops instead of using the school network because they find it more useful. We have the use of an internet dongle, to allow laptop users to connect using wi-fi to the internet!

We also have our own Yahoo group called the 'u3acomputergroup'. It can be quite useful for  exchanging ideas or seeking help from other members. If you’d like to join, please contact me by email for an invitation, because it’s a private group.  Similarly, let me know  if you have any suggestions or questions.
