Perranwell Meetings

A proposed New Constitution has been put into the December newsletter, together with the announcement of a Special General Meeting at 10 am on Wednesday February 3rd. in Perranwell Village Hall. David Neale has proposed an amendment, and this was sent out in the January newsletter. If we have a quorum at the Special General Meeting, there will be votes on the amendment and on the new Constitution. If the final version is approved by a two-thirds majority, it can be sent to the Charity Commission for their blessing and will then be in place for the AGM in April.

Coffee will be served earlier than usual at 9.30am on February 3rd. and the Special Meeting will start at 10am or soon after (we cannot start until we have 100 members signed in to make up the quorum). We hope to finish the Meeting at 10.30 or 10.45, then Des Prouse is going to give us an illustrated talk about "Goonhilly's Past and Possible Future".

Truro Meetings

These meetings are held in Truro Town Hall, Boscawen Street, on the fourth Tuesday of each month and start at 2.00pm, where the format is to have a speaker to offer a presentation on a subject of local interest.  As with the other monthly meetings, there is a cup of tea and time to catch up with friends before the start of the meeting.

Alan Jewell, the Town Cryer of Redruth, is coming along to our Truro meeting in the Town Hall on March 23rd. to talk about the "Cornish Migration", His wife is coming with him, and they are going to do music and verse as well as ordinary talking. It's thought this would be good for the Town Hall, where the acoustics are still a problem!

Please Note:  Our May Truro meeting will be held one week earlier, on 18th May
