NATURE:
Bird Watching:
With regret, Bob Wicks decided the time has arrived to hang up his binoculars. As a result, this group is without a leader at present. However, a willing member, John Jones is preparing to take up the task where Bob has left it and is seeking support from members who wish to continue with this fascinating activity. John has in mind to perhaps include some new additional locations, where our feathered friends are known to congregate and plans to put an Interest Sheet out at our forthcoming meetings, to solicit both existing and new members to the Bird Watching group. John may be contacted via e-mail, or by phone on (01872) 863275. He hopes to be present at the 7th December Perranwell meeting, to meet members who may have questions about future plans.
Wildflower Group:
This is a seasonal group, who plan to meet twice a month, between March and September. Whilst we visit various venues, known for their flora, to be found mainly in the west of the county, the group should not be seen as a rambling or walking group, since once in a favoured spot, we might only move a couple of hundred yards from our meeting point, whilst noting the varieties of flora to be observed in and around a locality! Jay Foote (01209) 210087, welcomes contact or calls from interested U3A members. To this end, Jay is holding an exploratoy meeting on Monday 6th February at Perranwell, for 10.30am for those seeking, and indeed offering more information and details of potential locations to visit through the seasons.
